Justin contacted a few months ago. He asked, “You ever make, “Muppets” cookies?”
No. But I have been waiting for someone to request the Muppets. Or Pretty much anything Jim Henson produced.
Only the most legendary children’s show of all time. Nix that. Legendary show produced FOR children, yet COMPLETELY appropriate for adults to watch. Especially The Muppets Take Manhattan and The Dark Crystal on DVD. 100 times.
I’m 1 Fine Cookie and I approve this message.
I mean, I even once tried to find a way to make myself into a Muppet. Unfortunately, you can only achieve this life-long dream at the FAO in NY (it’s online too but customization is minimal to none).
So I did the next best thing by creating a Muppet of myself online.
Sweet baby Carly Rae I am converting to Hinduism so I can become a Muppet in my next life.
So, no I have not. Yes, I have been waiting all of my life for this order.
I was giddy with excitement and then Justin explained what the order was for. He has this wonderful friend, Lindsay. She is 32 years old LOVES the Muppets. Puts me to shame.
Lindsay’s clearly cooler than me because she actually owns her own Muppet (they are called Whatnots, FYI). Lindsay is on the right. Loretta is on the left. Wait. Other way around.
Be jealous betch.
She is getting married in less than a week. Feel free to congratulate her in the comment section below. (Do it.)
She was also very recently diagnosed with stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. Lindsay is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
Justin wanted to do something special for her, so of course I took this as my greatest challenge. Â I decided to add some personal touches that I hoped she would appreciate.
Boom. The Lindsay Show.
My mother denying me soda was all for naught the second the front stage flashed across the screen in the opening sequence. Que the screaming, psychotic, jumping like seizure-induced, Â hoards of children.
Feel obliged to press play as you browse the rest of the photos:
“It’s time to play the music. It’s time to play the lights…”
“It’s time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight.”
“Why do we always come here? I guess we’ll never know. It’s like a kind of torture,
to have to watch the show.”
Miss Piggy of course. I actually slept on Miss Piggy sheets. I was 19.
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker.
Gonzo and Camilla.
Statler and Waldorf.
My favorite character. Swedish Chef.
I felt a little ambitious and attempted a Lindsay-like Muppet.
What do you think? Does it look like her? Not as pretty as the real life version.
I felt so humbled when Lindsay complimented my work and wrote that she would be saving the Kermit and Muppet stage cookie. Um yeah, because baking cookies is more exceptional than planning a wedding and beating the crap out of cancer.
Please feel free to leave a comment below to Lindsay congratulating her on her wedding and maybe some encouraging words of strength.
Thanks for the amazing opportunity Justin. Kick ass, Lindsay. Muppet Warrior.
