I was contacted for Tatum and Steffen’s engagement party. Stephanie, a family friend, wanted to order something special and personal. She explained to me that the future bride loves balloons, pink, and Butterfinger.

Hmmmm….

First of all I love the fact that she likes balloons. Do you remember Jerky Boys? They sold millions of tapes of their prank calls and my particular favorite is “Rosine likes balloons.” Unfortunately, it is far too inappropriate to post here, but if you don’t get offended easily then look it up on YouTube.

Either way, balloons rock. I had balloon arches at my sweet 16. No need for a car, or Lil’ Wayne to sing one song for $50,000. Just a bunch of balloons.

I had like five of these. Okay, maybe only two but who’s counting?

At my next birthday party I want to find the balloon artist who made this:

Toilet humor is always my favorite.

Anyhoo back to the engagement party. I needed to make cake pops, cookies and cupcakes. It took some thought, but I managed to incorporate all three concepts.

Stephanie said I could just make some cupcakes and sprinkle Butterfinger on top. I wanted to make them over the top Butterfinger, so  it imply would not suffice. The cupcakes were made with devil’s food and Butterfinger bits in the batter. I created a cocoa and Butterfinger fluffy frosting. I also filled the middle of the cupcake with a little Butterfinger cream filling. Yeah, like I said, I like to go over the top.

As if there were not enough Butterfinger, I topped each cuppie with a piece of the candy.  Pink had to be somewhere on the cupcakes, so I decided combining the requested color of pink with the brown of the Butterfinger would look nice.

Pink cake pops!

I just loved how these came out. Balloon sugar cookies covered in pink royal icing. I made them more personal by adding the future bride and groom’s name. Then, I added a brown and pink ribbon. One of my favorite cookie creations so far.

I think Tatum and Steffen liked the treats?..?..?
