Be My Bridesmaid Cookies. Saint Patrick’s Day Theme.
My pal Meg approached me last year about making “be my bride” cookies. I was impressed with the idea.
The thing that made these cookies so fun to make, is that Meg wanted them to have a Saint Patrick’s Day theme. Firstly, Saint Patrick’s Day is of the utmost importance in Boston. Meg and her fiancé, Nick, just so happen to live in Boston. This is Meg’s favorite holiday. They also have an ongoing joke about bad luck. Third, their wedding was planned to be around March.
Fate.
I mean, those baskets bridesmaids usually receive are cute and all but who really needs to read Cosmo or some fitness mag? Don’t most of us already have enough wine glasses in our kitchen by now? I will take the wine itself, though. Thanks.
Aside from being gifted amazing sweets, you get shoes.
Dripping in swag. Wine, cookie and shoes.
Here is Meg’s bridal crew. (I also know Jen on the left! Sweetest person!)
Some even took photos with their cookies.
What if someone said NO?!?! I would drive by their house, pluck the box of cookies out of their open palm, and drive home while crying and eating those tiny little shamrocks from my lap. Crumbs everywhere.
It would be a magical lap snack, though. How do you like the patterns I picked?
Including paisley, plaid, argyle, and little bitty teenie weenie shamrocks. There had to be plaid and argyle. This is New England, people.
Oh, yeah. This is Nick her fiancé.
Whoops. All of this talk about shoes and wine got me distracted. Then again, I wear heels and drink wine everyday. I am also always distracted.
As if they weren’t cute enough, we packed them into little boxes. Ugh! So cute.
Congratulations ladies on becoming a bridesmaid. Bask in the glory that is wine, the hors d’oeuvre table, and walking with awkward cousin Jimmy.
Congratulations Meg and Nick. Sláinte, or something.
