Super Bowl Snickers Stuffed Strawberries, PLUS a GIVEAWAY!!
Super Bowl Snickers Stuffed Strawberries
This time of year is like Christmas for many Americans (That’s 111 million viewers last Super Bowl), so apologies to any foreigners who frequent this site. The good news is you can modify these recipes for European football or Rugby.
The bad news? You still have to hear the trash talking. As there is an ongoing controversy as well, it’s going to get worse. To be frank, as a life-long sports fan, I never really got it. I love the Red Sox, but have no reason to instantly hate every Yankees fan. I care more about my teams than other teams and their fans.
Whatever happened to being a respectful human being who exercises common sense?
I know, right?
Just a few things that we all should keep in mind when watching sports:
1. You are not an expert. You are not a scientist. You are not highly skilled. There’s a reason why other people are professional coaches, players, refs, owners, etc. and you are not. Just because you watch and read a substantial amount about sports, does not make you a genius. A truly intelligent person recognizes that there is so little they know.
2. If everyone took all of that time invested in trolling, trash talking, or arguing, and put it towards volunteering, imagine how much would get friggin’ done around here. Take that hour you spent telling off whatever fan you hate on Facebook, and volunteer at an underfunded school 🙂 . How exciting would that be?!?!?!
Bill agrees.
Sooo Chocoley and I are going to start things off with my “nice” campaign and offer FREE STUFF in celebration of Super Bowl! Yes. I hope you enter many times for this giveaway, and make your own super bowl Snickers stuffed strawberries at home. Then, be super nice and give some to an opposing team fan.
Yes. Strawberries filled them with Snickers gooey goodness. Then decorated to look like football fields.
Go Pats!
Ingredients for Super Bowl Snickers Stuffed Strawberries
– Large strawberries (the larger, the better)
–Pieces of leftover cake or cupcakes (no frosting)
-Either chocolate melts OR white chocolate melts and green oil coloring
Tools
– Optional: egg crate
– Optional: chocolate melting pot
Begin making your Snickers stuffed strawberries, by hollowing out large strawberries. Cut a triangle out of the tip, then twist knife down hole so as to whittle out more space. Stuff strawberries with paper towel to soak up juices. Place in an egg crate, if you like.
Cut off chocolate around each side of the Snickers bar, then either chop into small squares with a knife or use a hand chopper to break Snickers into small bits.
Place Snickers on an aluminum foil-lined baking sheet and warm in oven for 5 minutes at 275 degrees.
Press the bottom and sides of the strawberry cavities with pieces with a thin layer of cake to soak up juice. The dryer the cake, the better! Wait a couple of minutes for Snickers to cool, then use a spoon or knife to push into each strawberry over the cake. Work with melting and filling small amounts at a time.
Now, you have two choices. You can melt regular chocolate and dip strawberries in, or decorate your Snickers filled strawberries a little for Super Bowl.
Place white chocolate melts into a chocolate melting pot (you can add a few drops of vegetable oil to make it easier to work with). Once melted, add a few squeezes of green oil coloring.
Dip Snickers stuffed strawberries into green chocolate compound mixture, then place on aluminum foil to cool and harden. Place a small amount of white chocolate melts into a chocolate piping bag. Heat in the microwave in 20 second spurts, and massage until creamy and melted (you can add a few drops of vegetable oil to melt with more ease).
Snip off the tip (only a TINY bit of it!) and begin piping lines and numbers on Snickers stuffed strawberries. Start with a field number, drawing a line the middle of each. For example, at the 50 yard line, you will see a five, then a line, then the zero. Proceed to draw four short lines in between each yard line as well, right below the numbers.
Store snickers stuffed strawberries on several layers of paper towels to soak up the juices. Remove and pat off with paper towels before immediately serving.
You’re going to have the sassiest dish at the Super Bowl party!
If you’re short on time, simply dip them in regular chocolate! You can make these Snickers stuffed strawberries. for Valentine’s Day, birthdays, or Mother’s Day too. Sky is the limit.
Not only do these Snickers stuffed strawberries have an adorable football field pattern, they’re filled with caramel, peanuts and nougat. Enjoy your trash talking while I’m eating these. Yes.
