I’m pretty much going to be having more fun on Cinco De Mayo than you. 1. ‘Cus I created this slushy popsicle margarita drink, with a coronita. 2. Because I will be partying it up.. You know, binge watching House of Cards on Netflix. Those psycho politicians sure know how to rage. #dougstamperallnightlong

They’re very affordable (I personally spent a little over $2 for a bag), but still quality and delicious. If you want to make a price conscious drink that is still crazy fun and over the top to look at, then start this recipe with Budget Saver popsicles. Lemon-lime, for Cinco De Mayo ;).
Not only is this recipe SUPER easy, to make, but it’s friggin’ delicious. I legit get to eat more than the one popsicle my mom allowed me after the pool. Child abuse, I tell yah. This slushy, sweet drink is spiked with all of the goodness you will find in a regular corona margarita. But it’s colorful, fun, and tastes
Ingredients for Slushy Popsicle Margarita with Corona
1 oz. Tequila (2 1/2T)
½ oz. Triple Sec (1 1/2 T)
2 Budget Saver popsicles in lemon-lime, plus more for garnish
2 Coronita 7 oz. beers
1 cup ice
Green sprinkles or salt
2 Margarita glasses
Corn Syrup
Yield: 2
To begin making your slushy popsicle margarita, pour corn syrup into a shallow bowl or baking dish. Pour green sprinkles into another. Dip the mouth of a clean margarita glass into corn syrup. The corn syrup should not be too high, so try to make sure it will only line the rim of the glass about half an inch deep.
Dip into sprinkles, then place upside down on a wax paper lined plate in the freezer.
Combine ice, tequila, two Budget Saver lemon-lime popsicles, and triple sec in a blender. Blend until slushy smooth.
Pour your slushy popsicle margarita about 2/3 of the way to the top of a margarita glass. Open a corona bottle and quickly, but carefully dunk into the drink, placing the bottle mouth along the bottom of the margarita glass.
Stick two Budget Saver lemon-lime popsicles on top to garnish.
I feel that if Frank Underwood sipped on a slushy popsicle margarita with Corona he would be so much more chill.
