Red, White and Blue Strawberry Shortcake S’mores
Red, White and Blue Strawberry Shortcake S’mores
I visited Blogher Food in Miami and I am still recovering. Those lady bloggers sure know how to rage.
I of course went on behalf of Kernel Seasons. I was the cat’s meow on campus with all of my seasoning samples.
Here is the Kernel Season’s team, with your holy awesomeness in the center.
Once the bloggers got their samples and bags, things got pretty majestic.
See? Rage. Good times.
Now before I get to the strawberry shortcake s’more recipe, I have an announcement:
In celebration of food blogs, and my partners at Kernel Season’s 1 Fine Cookie is hosting a giveaway. We will be giving away 3 prize packs.
Each prize pack will include Kernel Season’s 8 Seasoning Gift Basket, Complimentary Items (Butter Spritzer, Premium Popping Corn, Popping Oil) and a microwave popcorn bowl.
Details on how to enter at the bottom of this post.
In the meantime, here is a recipe I created for you. Independence Day is less than a month away and nothing makes me giggle more than James Franco looking at 17-year-olds on Instagram.
It’s a fusion of strawberry shortcake and s’mores. Â Yes.
A red, white and blue strawberry shortcake s’more. With white chocolate and caramel flavored shortcake. Yes.
Ingredients for Red, White and Blue Strawberry Shortcake S’mores
4 Cups flour
1/2 Teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons baking powder
2 Tablespoons Kernel Season’s caramel seasoning
4 Tablespoons sugar
2 sticks of cold butter sliced into pieces
4 egg whites
3/4 cup of heavy cream
1/3 cup heavy cream
2 cups white chocolate
Navy blue candy coloring
Strawberries
Marshmallow cream
To make the dough for your strawberry shortcake s’mores, pulse flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and caramel seasoning in a food processor. Add cold butter and pulse until combined into crumbs. Pour egg whites and heavy cream in, then pulse until completely combined.
Roll out dough very thick and use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out biscuits. Bake at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes or until baked through center.
Now to make the fillings for your strawberry shortcake s’mores.
To make the ganache, heat 1/3 cup heavy cream over low. Once hot and just forming bubbles around edge, remove from heat and add white chocolate. Whisk until melted throughout. Add several drops of the blue candy coloring. Allow to sit at room temperature until cool and thick.
Construct strawberry shortcake s’mores by spreading the white chocolate ganache on the bottom of shortcake, adding sliced strawberries, then dolloping marshmallow cream on top.
You can use a kitchen torch to toast marshmallow cream, then finish with shortcake top.
Let freedom ring.
For some added fun, shake on a few sprinkle stars onto your strawberry shortcake s’mores. Eat immediately.
Dump your boyfriend or girlfriend if they try to eat any of it. They didn’t love America enough anyway.

These are so unique and fun! I also am super jealous you went to Blogher. I need to learn how to get sponsors for those things… looks like you had a blast!
@Ashley Bee, lots of hard work will do it!
