Granola Spoons. Yes, Spoons That Are Edible. Plus a Giveaway!
My friend Vicki makes granola. It’s addictive, so it makes sense that it’s called My Favorite Indulgence. Let me tell you. There’s a chocolate one and I think I like it more than regular chocolate. It’s so addictive, I wouldn’t be surprised to see cops busting in on a granola party with Jerry Garcia, Charles Dickens, and Lindsay Lohan. That would be an odd party.
Seriously, I’m going to stock up on these. Fill my entire house with bags of My Favorite Indulgence. Then, get a star spot on Hoarders. I’ll be known as the crazy chick that hoards granola.
So it would only make sense to use the granola to make little, dainty edible spoons, right?
The spoons can hold a dollop of yogurt, or anything you like to eat your granola with. Fill shooter glasses with puréed fruit and whipped cream, then serve on a tray with the spoons. Awesome little party apps. Shoot, if you have kids these will work a lot better than the “airplane” method when getting them to eat. Edible spoon > plastic spoon we call airplane.
Did I mention I also have a giveaway? I will tell you a little more about that. In the meantime, check out the other raging-party-in-your-mouth flavors of My Favorite Indulgence by visiting their website here.

Here’s What You Need For Mini Granola Spoons
Ingredients
- My Favorite Indulgence Granola
- 1 Tablespoon honey
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
Tools
- Miniature spoons
- Aluminum foil
- Optional: Shooter glasses
Yields about 6-8 depending on size of the spoons.
Pour granola into your food processor and pulse until granola is broken up into small pieces. Set to the side. This is  the pumpkin spice granola.
Wrap aluminum foil tightly around each tasting spoon and coat with a touch of oil.
Melt butter, honey and brown sugar in a sauce pan on medium low until sugar is dissolved and the mixture is boiling slightly.
Remove from heat and add in about 8-10 tablespoons of processed granola. You want it wet enough to mold together but still as close to dry as possible without crumbling and falling apart.
When mixture becomes just cool enough to handle, mold granola into each foil-covered spoon and pop into freezer.
Tip:
-If granola mixture hardens before you are finished molding the spoons, reheat on the stove on low to soften.
Turn oven on to 350 degrees. Remove granola on foil from appetizer spoons, and turn foil up around edges so it is now cradled inside. Bake spoons on a baking sheet for about 8-10 minutes. It will melt and bubble a little.
Once it is cool enough to handle, press your finger in to make a cavity so you may use your spoon to scoop and hold. You can also use a toothpick or knife to neaten up any messy parts of the spoon while it is still cooling. Store in fridge before serving.
Tip:
–Spoons should be served in cool temperatures, as they will fall apart and melt. I know this because my AC was broken. In Texas.Â
I’m going to buy a mini pony and feed it with these spoons. Yes.
Fill shooter glasses with yogurt or whipped cream and puréed fruit. Eat with your pinkie sticking up. I don’t know why, just do it, damnit.
Teehee.

I’m not posting for the giveaway (none of that stuff suits my dietary needs) but wanted to express sympathy for the AC being out. Ours was too…twice…with a three-week old in the house. O.o
