Ferrero Rocher Strawberries
Ferrero Rocher Strawberries
I am basically obsessed w Ferrero Rocher. All other candy is good, but there is something about the hazelnut spread, nuts, and chocolate combo that makes me want to hide in my bed from the rest of the world, so I can watch Netflix and eat an entire box without having to share.
So of course, it would be inevitable that I somehow figure out a way to stuff strawberries with it. This recipe only has about five ingredients not bad!
Ingredients for Ferrero Rocher Strawberries
Strawberries
Blanched hazelnuts*, whole, ground and chopped
NutellaWafer ice cream cones
Melting chocolate
*If you end up with raw hazelnuts, all you need to do to blanche them is pour into boiling water along with some baking soda. Boil for a few minutes. Remove from water, then peel off skin.
To begin making your Ferrero Rocher strawberries, slice a triangle off the tip. Use a knife to whittle inside and make more space. Place a blanched hazelnut inside. Fill a sandwich bag with Nutella, and pipe into hole over Hazelnut.
Place strawberries in fridge. Combine 1/3 cup + 1 T of Nutella with 1/4 cup of ground Hazelnut. Place mixture in fridge. Once firm, use cool, clean hands to pat hazelnut mixture around tip of strawberry.
Smash ice cream cones in a plastic bag. Roll strawberries in crushed cone, then place in fridge to firm up.
Melt chocolate. While waiting for chocolate to melt, remove strawberries from fridge to come closer to room temperature. You want strawberries to be as close to room temperature, but not falling apart either.
Once chocolate is melted, stir in chopped hazelnuts. Spoon over strawberries, then place on parchment paper. Make sure chocolate is not hot!
