Fall Leaves Cupcakes
My favoritest thing about being an adult (aside from chilling in my bath tub with a bottle of wine and a grilled cheese sandwich at 2 a.m.) is the first week of September. I get to laugh at all of the kiddies going back to school. Muwahahaha.
Could you imagine having to go back? I can’t even.
 Â
With the weather starting to cool down, and the days becoming shorter I felt a fall themed dessert was in order. These fall leaf cupcakes can be managed by even a beginner baker. YES! These are easy, people.
Here’s What You Need for Autumn Leaf CupcakesÂ
A recipe for white cake batter
Red, orange
, brown
and yellow
food coloring
Make your cake batter. Pour some of the batter into four small bowls. Mix in food coloring for whatever colored leaves you would like on your cupcake.
Pour and spread a thin layer of each batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake and once cool, use your mini leaf cookie cutter to create colorful leaves.
Place leaves around the side of silicone baking cups. Pour in white cake batter and add more leaves to inside, as well as on top. Bake cupcakes until they begin to brown. Allow to cool and pipe or spread frosting. Feel free to add food coloring to frosting for a pop of color.
Now eat these on your porch and taunt all of the kids leaving for school. That’s right. Fall means back to school for you, and eating cupcakes for breakfast for me.
Look! Leaves inside. Teehee.
I cannot take credit for baking shapes into cakes. Check out Bake it in a Cake.

A few more fall and autumn theme recipes from the vault:
Clockwise:
1. Family drama at the Thanksgiving table will go by far more quickly with these pumpkin pie infused vodka shots.
2. Fry up some delicious apple cider doughnuts filled with a boozy (or virgin) cheesecake filling.
3. Make these chocolate leaves to decorate just about anything for the fall.
4. Entertain guests with a spiked (or not spiked) apple cider dip. So addictive.
