DIY Red Heart Ice Cubes
DIY Red Heart Ice Cubes
What’s your favorite song with the word, “heart” in it? I prefer Janis Joplin…
Oh, come on, come on, come on, come on!
…..Take another little piece of my heart now baby
Either that, or my runner up,”Dip Doodle” by Adam Sandler
Jabawokee ding dong slip slap slee
Dipstick paddywhack pee pee googalee gee
Polly wolly sling slang skooey dibbely doo
Wing wong ping pong king kong Cheech ‘n Chong hop hip kagagoogoo…
…Now if you listened to the words of this song
You know they’re coming straight from the heart
Never make fun of your Grandma
Even when she rips a juicy fart
Okay, he only says heart once, but still. That song is a classic. AND tbh, most songs are about being heart broken, and nobody needs that depressing trash on Valentine’s Day.
In the spirits of heart and love, I made my bae red heart ice cubes. I used no mold or ice cubes, so it’s easy to make at home. They taste like cherry, and can be used to chill your fave clear cocktail, sparkling wine, or champagne. Want to make it for kids? Toss a few in sprite or soda water. See? Great for kids and adults alike.
You will need red twin popsicles from Budget Saver to make these red heart ice cubes. They are super affordable, but still with quality flavor. You can find Budget Saver almost everywhere, just use the store locator on their site:
Ingredients for Red Heart Ice Cubes
Serve with: Any clear soda, champagne or sparkling wine
To begin making your red heart ice cubes, place parchment/wax paper on a plate and place in the freezer to cool.
Remove a red Budget Saver Twin Pop and slice into two different popsicles.
Cut the ends off of each popsicle. Slice it at a sharp angle so when you connect both tips at the slices, it will form a heart shape.
Remove cooled plate from freezer and add a couple of drops of water. Place the connected slices on top of the water quickly. The two halves should freeze together into red heart ice cubes almost immediately. Place in freezer and allow to freeze more.
Once set, serve in a glass of soda water, sprite, sparkling wine, or champagne.
