Tex-Mex jalapeño popper puff pastry appetizer. These super easy and quick Texas-shaped pastries are covered in bacon, spicy jalapeño, and creamy cheese.
Ingredients
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese
  • A couple of splashes of heavy cream
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Pepper
  • Jalepeño peppers (some diced, some sliced)
  • Small block of Gruyère cheese
  • Lightly cooked bacon, shredded
  • 4 sheets puff pastry, either store bought or homemade
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten with a fork

  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  3. Mix diced jalapeno, pepper, and fresh parmesan into mascarpone cheese. Add a splash of cream, and shredded parmesan cheese.
  4. Unfold puff pastry and roll with pin lightly to secure edges. Cut pieces with a cookie cutter. Use a fork to poke holes in pastry shapes.
  5. Spread mascarpone onto each pastry, leaving space around the borders.
  6. With a pastry brush, cover edges with egg wash.
  7. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet for about 35 minutes or more, or until golden brown. and puff pastry is crispy on edges.
