So Passover here, and as I mentioned, my father’s side is Jewish. SO as a Hallmark Jew, I’m totally obligated to make something delicious as an ode to the most confusing holiday that allowed me to drink wine as a child. Thank you, Elijah.

 

Now, please note, my family is very diverse and as a result Passover wasn’t exactly celebrated following Kosher rules. As far as my family taught me, this dip would be appropriate if served with Matzah bread, and not combined with meat. I am also certain that some Sephardic Jews avoid black poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and even some avoid garlic.

There’s also some rules about how and where it is prepared, so best to check with other guests or the host.

 

If you do not celebrate Passover, this is no problem because the dip is friggin’ delicious. We have made it for Easter (Hallmark Christian), New Years Eve, and pretty much any regular party.

 

 

It’s really just the most amazing version of a bagel, I must say. Creamy, cheesy and hot, with a smoky flavor.

Ingredients for your Everything Bagel Dip

1- 8 ounce packages cream cheese , at room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/4 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or gruyere) + extra to top
2 ounces smoked salmont (refrigerated seafood section)
1 T minced fresh dill
2 teaspoon dried onion flakes
1/2 teaspoon dried garlic powder
2 teaspoon Black poppy seeds
2 teaspoon sesame seeds

Cherry tomatoes
Capers
Diced Red Onion

Bagel ChipsMatzah bread

Combine all ingredients, except tomatoes, capers, and diced red onions in a food processor. Process until creamy. Top with extra shredded cheese.

Spoon into a baking dish and bake at 375 for about 20-30 minutes, or until bubbling.

Top with sliced cherry tomatoes, capers and diced red onion.

The everything bagel dip perfectly encapsulates a class, everything New York bagel. For Passover, Easter, Hanukkah, brunch or any celebratory get together.
Ingredients
